Regional Events

With the disappointment of having to cancel this years Annual Conference now easing we’re pleased to announce three Regional Events for NFTMO Members.

As trailed in our most recent bulleting these events will be an opportunity to hear from each other, from government, the Regulator and the Housing Ombudsman. We also want to have your input into the future objectives of the NFTMO. How can we best represent your TMO and what are your priorities?

The dates for each event are

  • Midlands – 7th October 2024
  • South – 15th October 2024
  • North – 22nd October 2024

All events are free but pre-booking is essential as numbers are limited by the size of each venue.

The Midlands Event will be held at the offices of Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham whilst the Southern Event is at Wenlock Barn Community Hall and the Northern Event at Bury East Family Hub. Each event will run from 10.30 a.m. (arrival from 10.00) until 2.30 p.m.

Full joining instructions will be sent when you book.

 

Review of Co-operative Law – Update

What a difference a TMO makes!

Pembroke Street EMB have produced a booklet detailing the difference their organisation has made to their community in Plymouth.

It catalogues the formation of the EMB in an area of high crime and deprivation and shows how the committed residents in the area have transformed their homes and local area into what it currently is. Pembroke Street EMB epitomises the power of local involvement and empowerment and demonstrates the changes that can be achieved through tenant management.

Farewell Andy & Simon

It’s with great sadness that we announce the departure of two stalwarts of the NFTMO Executive who have stepped down from their roles.

Both Andy Slater (Dovecotes) and Simon Oelman (Roupell Park) were elected to the Executive in 2018 and have played an important part in the history of the NFTMO. Andy, until stepping down was company secretary and both brought considerable knowledge and experience to their roles.

Simon has recently retired from his role of Manager at Roupell Park in South London where he was instrumental in improving services to residents. Andy, a tenant from Wolverhampton played an important role in his TMO and local community but has had to step down for personal reasons – tenants never retire from playing a role in their community do they?!

The NFTMO would like to thank them for their commitment over the years and wish them well for the future.

Membership Fees 2025

At the Annual General Meeting of 17th July 2024 it was agreed to increase the annual membership fee for 2025.

It’s been 10 years since the membership was last increased and, over that period, inflation has been 33%. Unfortunately, this has meant that we can no longer resist an increase in the annual membership fee.

Therefore the next renewal will see fees increase to £0.75 per home managed subject to a minimum of £125.00 and a maximum of £750.00.

 

We hope that you’ll agree that the fees remain fair and that the savings members can achieve on the Annual Conference and Training courses, plus the information available to members , mean that membership of the NFTMO still represents excellent value for money.
