Data Protection
There’s been a recent update to the Data Protection Act 2018 as a result of the introduction of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
For individuals who believe that their data has been misused they are now required to raise their complaint with the Data Controller (i.e. the organisation handling their personal data) first before escalating it to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
In practice this will mean that you need to ensure that your complaints process should include reference to handling complaints regarding data protection concerns.
