Over 30 TMO representatives came together for the NFTMO London/South Regional Event on 15th October. Opening the Event they heard the story of Wenlock Barn TMO from the TMO Manager, David Nkrumah-Buansi, and the work they are delivering for residents of almost 1200 homes on the Wenlock Barn Estate. This was followed by Brunswick Close TMO, whose Manager Grace Udoh and Treasurer Mark Waller took an enraptured audience through the outstanding work they are doing on their estate.
From partnerships with local charities, development of new community rooms, improved garden areas and training caretakers to develop wider services, there’s an awful lot of good work being undertaken by staff and residents (I fancy the brass band at Christmas!)
We then heard from the Housing Ombudsman Service and the Regulator of Social Housing who outlined their roles and the powers they have (all of which have increased in recent times). We also heard how TMOs fit into this new regulatory regime.
We’re really looking forward to the North Regional Event on Tuesday 22nd October (it’s not too late to book a place).
