Regulator launches consultation on updates to the consumer standard
The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has this week launched a consultation on proposed updates to the Consumer Standards Code of Practice and the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs).
The consultation will run for 12 weeks and closes on 3rd March 2026. This follows consultation on Competence and Conduct Standard and the Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRS) undertaken by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the intention is to get views on whether the changes proposed by the RSH to the Transparency, Influence and Accountability accurately reflect the direction given by MHCLG.
It is particularly important for the tenant management sector to respond to ensure that the changes reflect the exemption from the requirement for professional qualifications for TMOs is sufficiently robust.
